NCS Partners With Consulting Group To Host Pre-Retirement Workshop

In collaboration with Sean Cussons Consulting Group, the Nigeria Customs Service organized a 5-day pre-retirement workshop for officers preparing to exit the service from November 13th to 17th, 2023, held at the Customs conference hall in Garki, Abuja.

Deputy Comptroller-General of Customs, Greg Itoto, representing the Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, highlighted the workshop’s objectives, emphasizing its role in preparing officers for life beyond their service tenure. Itoto stressed the importance of equipping participants with new strategies and opportunities for a seamless transition post-retirement.

The workshop, primarily tailored for Deputy Comptrollers, focused on imparting business insights, investment knowledge, technological opportunities, and advice on maintaining a healthy lifestyle after leaving the service.

Itoto commended the Customs Service’s dedication to organizing such impactful workshops, acknowledging the CGC’s efforts in enhancing employees’ social and economic welfare.

CGC Bashir reaffirmed the Customs Service’s commitment to valuing the contributions of retired officers, recognizing them as essential stakeholders in the organization.

One of the participants, Deputy Comptroller Ajibola Kayode, expressed appreciation for the workshop’s organization, stating that it met their expectations in adequately preparing for life post-service. Kayode encouraged the continuity of such beneficial programs within the service.

The workshop centered around the theme “Strategic Exit Program for Retiring Staff of Nigeria Customs Service,” aiming to empower officers for a successful transition into retirement.
