HE POINTED OUT TO EACH OF THE GRADUAND AT THE TRAINING THAT THE GRANT OF N75,000 TO BE GIVEN TO THEM BY THE OFFICE OF HONOURABLE FALEKE SHOULD NOT BE ABUSED BUT USED WISELY FOR INVESTMENT IN THEIR FISHING PURSUITS.
MORE SO AS THEY WILL BE CERTIFICATED FOR ATTENDING THE TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR CATFISH AND SEA FOODS.
THE LECTURER FROM THE NIGERIAN INSTIUTE OF MARINE RESEARCH AND OCEANOGRAPHY;FRIDAY IHIMEKPEN WAS VERY EXPLICIT IN ALL THE VARIOUS ASPECTS OF THE TRAINING AS HE MADE IT AN INTERCATIVE CLASS.
HE TAUGHT THEM HOW TO KILL THE MALE FISH IN ORDER TO GET THE EGG THAT THEY ILL INCUBATE TO INCREASE FISH PRODUCTION.
HE EMPHASISED ON THE USAGE ON WATER AND CLEANESS ON THE ENVIROMENT WHERE THE FISH IS BEING REARED ,HE ALSO TAUGHT TTHEM HOIW TO DIFFERENTIATE FROM THE MALE AND THE FEMALE FISH.
BY BRINGING A LIVE CAT FISH THAT THE FEMALE ONE HAS A HOLE WHILE THE MALE HAS A KNOB AND WHEN GIVEN IT AN INJECTION EFFORTS SHOULD BE MADE TO MAKE SURE THAT THE NEEDLE IS BENT.

What is the name?
My name is Ihimekpen Friday and I am from The Nigerian Institute of Marine Research and Oceanography
Why are you here today?
Well we actually have a training program organized by Honourable James Abiodun Faleke and it has being on for a very long time but this years own has been on and we have had all kinds of series involved covering about 2,000 participants to be trained.
What is your impression so far?
The training has been very good I could recall that the one that we did last year based on reports are actually doing very fine and they have there fans out.
Today the training is more on fingerlings production and it is on different series but todays own is fingerlings production and shrimps culture.
It is not just about going into any form of venture you must have access to the babies or the fingerlings.
So what we are actually doing here today is how to make people or businesses produce their own babies or fingerlings.
Can you give us further insights on what can be done to curb the Japa syndrome?
It is not a new thing to us as the local government where I come from know about this if we take last year into account viz-a-viz this year ,in Anioma we trained about 450 women in aqual -culture and today they are all doing very fine and we had a follow up .
The Lagos state government and couple of publics were involved in the training at the time.
We also appeal to who so ever might be interested and we are ready to train more of our men and women ,we also hope to have access to the feeds and fingerlings also and I can assure you that Japa will be a thing of the past.
You can be in the country and be in fish farming and If you are into fish farming you will surely make some money even the one’s that we helped to train and the people at Anioma will not just train you and live you .
After we train you and there is any challenge you can call on us and we will be behind you to give you all the technical support you need to surmount your immediate hurdle and then you can thrive.
It is just like what Honourable James Abiodun Faleke is presently doing and so if many more people are doing them including the youths and the women and they are more involved and there is effective monitoring then success is not far away.
What is your opinion on Honourable James Abiodun Faleke kind gestures last year and this year on empowerment ?
I have never stopped saying that if a man is bad vote him out but if he is good then he should be allowed to retain his seat ,but I want to assure you that I have the implicit confidence in the fact that Lagosians will vote for him just as hey have always done in the past.
The training for last year and this year was massive courtesy of Faleke and he beauty of it is that he has being training different faces and they are not just people from his own political learning at all.
He has being training new faces and different people and lots of them are not even people that he knows at all and we even have people from other states as well.
We are wishing him very well and that is the fact that he will go to a higher height.
I want to use this medium to appreciate our director, Professor Abiodun sule because if it was not for him we will not be here..
What is your impression on the lecture delivered today sir,has it being interactive enough sir?
The lecture in my own personal opinion brought out the very best in us and through this you can see how we speak very less and yet still show the real thing.
I think they know if there is any issue they can always give us a call at short notice and we will be there for them .

What will you say on behalf of the students?
On behalf of the students I will like to thank Honourable James Abiodun Faleke for his contributions so far to humanity ,infact this is not the first time that he has done this.
He has being doing several things and this is just one of several things that he has done.i want to specially appreciate his gestures and efforts in trying to empower all of us and may God Almighty in his infinite mercies continue to bless and perfect all that concerns him.
How will you rate his initiatives or series of interventions ?
First of all I have to go back to my local government and use that as a case study ,I am from Onigbongbo Local Government ward b and as a matter of fact I am the Assistant ward of my ward .
Although he has done so many things in my ward and in so many other local governments but this particular thing is that his performance in that area makes me to appreciate him on daily basis.
Ask me what is that thing the constancy is the issue of lighting,for example between 6 to 7 in the evening when NEPA might have taken away their electrical source you will see the lightings on the streets come up to illuminate everywhere and this makes me so happy and I always exclaim that God bless Faleke,ironically this is what other people have being saying as well so I do appreciate him for that.
What do you have to tell your fellow trainees today as it concerns the chances given to them ?
They should utilize it in a very good way as you do no take up the cash now and then you go and spend it in a wrong place and so you spend it wisely via investments so that you do not keep coming back again.

Okay sir we have being coming around here since the 29th of September,2023 and we want to know why and what is going on here?
The empowerment is on going and it is been sponsored by the Honourable Abiodun James Faleke ,[M.H.R.]Who is representing the House of Representatives of Ikeja Federal Constituency in Abuja,Seat of power.
The man has been doing so much in trying to assist the common man to live better or raise the standards or quality of there lives.
The empowerment event that you came for has at least 260 people who are said to be beneficiaries and they learn a lot aside from educating them and also informing them on how to establish themselves With cash grants at the end of the program.
This makes the people of Ikeja and environs who have benefitted one way or the other from his large heart to continue to pray for him as a lot of people enjoy his work as he has being doing it for long and his interventions are numerous and cannot be counted.
Let’s talk about the road construction,the streets light,schools ,empowering police stations and so many which I cannot mention .
All of us should know that what is happening in Ikeja Federal Constituency has never happened in many places.
He has really represented us very well as he put a smile for the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Sir would you say in your own words that the programme is timely to the people that are jobless.
We do a lot of schematics Due to the situation we have found ourselves in Nigeria many go to finance companies to look for more to strengthen their pursuits as it is free ,both the training and the cash grant is also free, as it reduces the level of poverty….
This poverty alleviation reduces the level of tension as people collect and cry and ask if it was for the teachers only but it is not for the teachers alone but for the individual.
If you want to know that the Federal Government is working or to know that the indices is working then it is expedient that you look for how to come to Ikeja to take an official look so that you will know if the indices for measurement was working.
go all around not only this but in things involving artisans ,many areas and so he has done a lot to reduce the tension on the people and the situation we have found ourselves in Nigeria
What is your advice to the trainees ?
Well on the issues surrounding them i always advice them because I normally could take the time to address them to utilize the money very well as the money give to them is not meant for holding a party or for staging and occasion.
It is not meant for drinking ,drugging or clubbing or philandering anywhere as you see the problem that we are facing is we do not try to maintain our expected standards hence we should collect the money and use it wisely .
Do not collect the money and use it wrongly and then tomorrow you speak badly on the government .
Government is assisting us as they want us to stand on our feet and face the future with great enthusiasm or optimism.
There are businesses Even amongst our selves which you can start small and build on its successes.
Businesses like that you can start in your domain or your door mouth and in your own environment and later in the future you can become something in life.
