We’re Asking For The Money, They’re Showing Us The Gun – Shehu Sani Mocks Tinubu Govt Over Emefiele’s Arraignment

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has mocked the Bola Tinubu-led government over the arraignment of the suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, over alleged possession of a firearm.

Gists9ja earlier reported that the Department of State Services (DSS) arraigned the suspended CBN Governor on a two-count of charge of illegal possession of a single-barrel gun and 23 live ammunition.

Operatives of the secret police had arrived alongside Emefiele at the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, around 9:18 am on Tuesday for the arraignment of the suspended apex bank boss.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Sani said Nigerians are expecting a genuine investigation of the financial recklessness and plunder of the CBN under President Muhammadu Buhari.

The former lawmaker asked the government to bring the collaborators and beneficiaries of stolen money from the CBN to book and recover looted funds where necessary.

Sani added that instead of the federal government showing monies recovered from Emefiele, the DSS is tendering a recovered gun as an exhibit.

He wrote: “The expectation of the Nation is that there is a genuine effort to investigate the financial recklessness and plunder of the Central Bank under the Buhari administration, bring the collaborators and beneficiaries to book and recover looted funds where necessary. We are asking for the money they are showing us the Gun.”
