Lagos-Based Journalist,  Ajagbe Teslim Gets Political Appointment

In a move aimed at strengthening digital communications within Lagos Island East LCDA, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Muib Alade Folawiyo, has appointed seasoned Journalist, Ajagbe Adeyemi Teslim as his Special Adviser (SA) on Digital Communications.

The announcement was made on Thursday through an official statement issued by the council chairman, and it was noted that the appointment would take immediate effect. Ajagbe Teslim, the publisher of the widely recognized online platform, August24news.com, and its sister YouTube channel, August24news TV, is set to bring his wealth of experience to the position.

August24news TV Channel has gained significant acclaim, being a Google accredited and certified channel on YouTube with an impressive following of over 5,000 subscribers and 55,000 views. Ajagbe’s credibility and versatility in reporting have made him a prominent figure in the media industry. His background includes roles as an entertainment reporter, Business Editor, and Political Editor before venturing into establishing August24news TV.

Prior to his appointment, Ajagbe had shown active involvement in politics, having been a former two-term councilorship aspirant from Ward E3 in Lagos Island East LCDA under the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The chairman emphasized that Ajagbe’s appointment was based on his strong political affiliation with the current administration and his extensive experience in the realm of online digital Journalism. The Executive Chairman believes that Ajagbe’s expertise will be instrumental in bolstering the communication efforts of his administration.

Ajagbe holds a National Diploma (ND) in Mass Communications from Lagos State Polytechnic, now known as Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu campus. He further pursued a Higher National  Diploma (HND) in Journalism at the prestigious Times Journalist Institute (TJI) in Surulere, Lagos.

Throughout his career, Ajagbe has actively participated in various workshops, seminars, and training programmes, which have played a pivotal role in enhancing his Journalism practice and solidifying his standing as a prominent figure in the digital Journalism landscape.

In response to the appointment, Hon. Moshood Mayegun, the Lagos State Deputy Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), expressed his appreciation to the council chairman for selecting Ajagbe as his digital communication aide. Hon. Mayegun expressed confidence in Ajagbe’s capabilities, describing him as a young and vibrant individual perfectly suited for the role and believing that Ajagbe will exceed expectations in his new position.

The appointment of Ajagbe Teslim marks a significant step towards elevating digital communication efforts within the Lagos Island East LCDA and is anticipated to bring valuable contributions to the council’s ongoing initiatives
