Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), over the weekend, arrested two cart pushers and impounded 30 carts over illegal refuse collection in FESTAC area of the State.
The State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tokunbo Wahab disclosed this on Saturday, April 6, 2024, on his X Handle formerly known as Twitter.
He said the cart pushers were apprehended for constituting environmental pollution and causing harm to human health.
According to him, LAWMA monitoring and enforcement team on morning duty at FESTAC town, Amuwo Odofin, arrested some illegal cart pushers who collect refuse and waste from residents and market traders around the environment and dump same by the roadside, walkway, and median, constituting environmental pollution and causing harm to human health.
