The State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command, Mr Adedotun Sunday Keshinro has extended his familiarization visits to security agencies in the state commencing with the Commands of the Department of State Security ( DSS ) and the 9 Brigade Nigerian Army ( NA ) today, Thursday, 15th February, 2024.
The Lagos State Commandant, who visited the commands of the two security organizations aforementioned above seized the opportunity to harp on tested and proven methods that can be used to curb rising security challenges in the state. The way forward may include inter agency collaboration, intelligence gathering and sharing, community policing and others amongst all security agencies particularly, the DSS and the Army due to the age long historical nexus that had existed in the past between the former and the Corps.
The Director State Security, Lagos State Command, Mr Adedapo Amao commended the NSCDC for resilience, dedication and hardwork since its establishment as a full fledged paramilitary service in 2003. The State Director also further assured the Cops of his unwavering support in the state.
In the same vein, the Commander, 9 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Adegoke Adetuyi, who also welcomed the Lagos State Commandant into his office today, alongside other very senior officers further avowed his unflinching support for the Command in all areas of importance to its statutory mandates having stated that the collaboration will be mutual in nature as the Army also needs the Corps’ support in other statutory areas of competence as well as participation in joint operations, programmes, and other social and moral boosting exercises and events.
