RELOCATION TO PERMANENT HEADQUARTERS: ISIAGU COMMUNITY HANDS OVER SECURITY POST CONSTRUCTED AND DONATED TO NSCDC

Determined, focused and working hard towards the relocation of NSCDC Anambra State Command to its permanent Headquarters located at Isiagu Awka South LGA within a shortest possible time , the Assistant Commandant General in charge of NSCDC Zone K, Headquarters, Awka, Solomon Iyamu, fsi, on Wednesday 29, November, 2023 commissioned security post constructed and donated to the NSCDC by the Isiagu Traditional Ruler, His Royal Magesty, Igwe Augustine Ozoemena Nwankwo, Igwe Agu 1, Ezedioramma II of Isiagu Ancient Kingdom.

Performing the inauguration of the security post on behalf of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi,mni,OFR, ACG Iyamu stated that the location of the NSCDC Permanent Headquarters at Isiagu apart from ensuring tranquility and safety of residents, it will enable the Corps to perform better in a conducive environment.

The Zonal Commander appreciated the Isiagu Community for the kind gesture and reassured that officers and men are determined to work tirelessly in improving the state of security in and around the area. He noted that the security post would really assist the command in curtailing the activities of hoodlums in the area.

” I really want to thank the Isiagu Community for this gesture. They sensed our need,worked towards it and I must say that we are happy with this. With the erection of this security post, be rest assured that all is now set for the Command to take possession of the new office. This facility will not only motivate the personnel working hard to protect lives and property of citizens but will bring development to Isiagu town. ” he posited.

In his remarks, Mr. Edwin Osuala, the Anambra State Commandant said with the construction and donation of the edifice , Isiagu Community and the State will experience safety and security. He called on the Isiagu traditional ruler to sensitize his subjects on the need to cooperate with the NSCDC in order to guarantee a safe and secured environment.

“I am glad the Community is partnering with us. Please communicate with your people to embrace us with peace. Security is a business of all. If they fail to assist us ,we may not be able to deliver security wise as expected. It behoves on the community to avail us useful information of any enemy of the state to curb all manners of atrocities” he concluded.

On what prompted him to embark on the project, the traditional ruler of Isiagu, HRM Igwe Augustine Nwankwo said there was need to partner with the NSCDC in line with his kingship core objective to effectively support security agencies to secure lives and property of all Isiagu indigenes and residents alike.

” I must appreciate the NSCDC for agreeing to site their permanent Headquarters in our domain. We are ever ready to support you to stem the tide of crime and criminality in our community. We are going to talk to our people the way they would understand to give you all the necessary support to succeed. ” he stated.

Contributing, Deputy Commandant Francis Nnadi, commended Isiagu town for starting off on a good note, promising full utilisation of the facility.

In a related development, the Anambra State Government through the Ministry of Power and Water resources has commenced the installation of the 500kva transformer earlier donated to the command at the permanent Headquarters. Representative of the Honourable Commissioner, Engr. Fimbarr Ajegwu, Assistant Chief Engineer said the transformer has been placed on plinth as part of the installation process, adding that when completed and energized , the office would experience more quality power supply.

The occasion was witnessed by management staff from Zone K Headquarters , State Command and community leaders.
