The National woman leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Mrs Lizzy Nwokeocha has lauded the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections, Prof. Peter Umeadi for projecting the party nationally.

The APGA woman leader gave the advice during the “2023 edition of Imo APGA women August meeting themed, “Re Orientation of the Women for Political Participation” held at the party secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.

The Imo state woman leader of APGA Mrs. Nkasi Tessy Obi also urged female members of the party to troop to their various communities and embark on aggressive grassroots mobilisation to secure victory for the party in the November 11 gubernatorial election.

She argued that the womenfolk with their innate power of conviction have a crucial role to play for the success of the party at the polls.

She said, “My fellow women, we’ve to take our job seriously because as the saying goes, “to whom much is given, much is expected. The whole world looks at the women for organisation, no wonder they have labeled women ‘best managers.’”

Addressing the virtues of Umeadi, the women noted that Umeadi remains the national leader of the party and that they would continue to rally round him to provide the needed leadership that will further move the party to greater heights.

Mrs. Nwokeocha who spoke on behalf of the women said, “APGA is not a makeshift party but one of the mainstream political parties in the country.

“We are lucky to have a national leader in the person of Prof. Umeadi who has been very valuable in this party. He took the party beyond our wildest imagination in the 2023 presidential election,’ she said.

Umeadi who also bagged a meritorious Award from the women represented by Elder Afam Enemokwu – immediate past chairman of the party in Delta State and Director of Operations of APGA Presidential campaign council assured that having taken cognizance of the ills that plaqued the party in the past, he had installed the necessary strategy to remedy such odds.

He extolled the women as patriots and worthy ambassadors of the party and enjoined them to always resist the temptation to defect to the opposition parties in spite of all inducements.

“I urge you to remain in APGA and to support our governorship candidate for the November polls in Imo State. In APGA, we crawl, walk and run and there is no going back”.

Mrs. Nwokeocha who was bestowed with the prestigious Award of “Mother General of APGA by the women, said “Go and mobilize women to come out and contest for elective offices because by doing so, we’ll further promote women participation in partisan politics.”
