CG’S Marine Monitoring, Western Command handsover 3 suspects and exhibits to Nigeria Customs Service as NCS lauds NSCDC’S intervention and action …

The Commandant’s General, Marine Monitoring Unit, Western Command, has intercepted three ( 3 ) wooden boats suspected, to be ferrying two hundred and ninety two ( 292 ) bags of rice suspected, to be smuggled into Nigeria, from the Republic of Benin. Three ( 3 ) male suspects have also been immediately, arrested in relation to the crime.

The gallant team of the Commandant General’s Marine Monitoring of the aforementioned Command above swung into action upon receiving credible and actionable intelligence, which resulted into the successful arrest of 3 suspects and seizure of the aforementioned exhibits, at about 0130hrs, on Monday, 18th September, 2023, at the Eleko Beach axis, without any operational glitch.

The resolve of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni, OFR, to stamp out all forms of economic sabotage, illegal oil dealings and reckless vandalism of critical national assets and infrastructure of government remain unflinching. This assertion has been proven by this arrest, which is one of the many successful kinetic approaches of the Corps, to ending such sabotage in Lagos State and Nigeria at large.

To this effect the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, today, also ensured the appropriate and successful handover of the already apprehended suspects and exhibits to the rightful agency, the Nigeria Customs Service ( NCS ), today, Wednesday, 20th September, 2023, at the base of the CG’s Marine Monitoring, Western Command, in Ijora, Lagos.

The handover was done by the Commander, CG’s Marine Monitoring, Western Command, Chief Superintendent of Corps Emmanuel Oloyede to the representative of the Customs authority, from Tin Can, Apapa, Superintendent of Customs Magaji.

Superintendent of Customs Magaji seized, the opportunity to appreciate the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for its unity of purpose, and enhancement of collaboration as one of the best strategies to end all forms of economic sabotage and heinous crimes in the society.

The NSCDC, Lagos State Command also by this seizure warned all unrepentant criminals and unscrupulous elements causing untold hardship, food scarcity, vandalism and all forms economic sabotage in the state to as a matter of urgency desist, from it or face the full wrath of the law, when apprehended and found culpable.
