Some Nigerians on social media have continued to share funny throwback videos of former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, in celebration of his recent appointment as Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Wike was part of the 46 Ministers assigned portfolios by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday, reports Nigerian Tribune.

Wike, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), became the first Southerner to be appointed as FCT Minister in 47 years. The last of such appointment was in 1976 when former President Obasanjo appointed Mobolaji Ajose-Adeogun to the position.

The former Rivers governor, who once served as the Minister of State for Education, is well known for his comical speech, dance steps, and other hilarious acts at occasions.

Some of these hilarious moments have been documented in videos, with some of them making it to Twitter trends today.

In one of the videos shared by a Twitter user, @Lawi_IA, Wike while addressing some traditional rulers and chiefs accused one of them of not knowing what to do with the position he holds, adding that the nodding he was giving to his speech was fake.

He said, “Stop shaking your head. You are one of those causing problems. They gave you chieftaincy, but you are a young boy, so you don’t even know what to do with it, and then when I’m speaking, you are shaking your head. All fake.”

In another video shared by @Sweetsixtien, Wike, while addressing the audience in an event during the height of the Covid-19, said it was wrong for him to be isolated while someone like Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who he accused of allegedly collecting bribe from contractors, continued to walk freely on the street.

Another Twitter user, @aushamaki, shared a video of veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko to portray how likely Wike will act upon his assumption in the office as the FCT Minister.

In the video, Jide Kosoko could be seen getting out of a car angrily and asking his escort to bring down a particular building fence.

Captioning the video, he wrote, “Wike’s first day as FCT Minister when he visits Wadata Plaza.”

If there is one name that Wike is well-deserved to be called, it will be ‘Mr. Project’. This is evident in many of his infrastructural projects during his two tenure as the Governor of Rivers State.

While bragging about the number of flyovers he has built at one of the events he graced as the Rivers Governor, he was captured counting them one by one until number 12.

The video, which was shared by @XBrianaDennis on Twitter, was captioned “Abuja after 4 years of Wike.”

If there is a group of people that you will always see with Wike at occasions, then that will definitely be his musical band who always accompany him on almost all occasions.

In a funny video shared by @lyakology on Twitter, one of the band members, while praising the former Rivers Governor, jokingly said some people are of the opinion that he is into some kind of voodoo.

Responding to him, Wike said, “Na you dey do juju.”

In another video shared by @DeeOneAyeekoto on Twitter, Wike could be seen putting on the popular Northerners’ dress, Babariga.

Captioning the video, he wrote, “His Excellency, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike CON…. RANKADEDE
