A viral video of an octogenarian who resided in Oworonshoki has surfaced expressing how glad he became when he saw workers from the environment department of Kosofe local government disilting wastes that he has been spending his money to do despite being retired.

Newsconnect reports that the 80 years old Man named Samuel Olu Ogundero, a 3 bedroom bungalow landlord at No 2 Atanda Alonge street in Oworo felt elated with the intervention having being overwhelmed with challenges of using his limited resources to solve other people’s problem.

In an interview with a reporter during the exercise, Pa Samuel said;

“I am happy when I saw workers of Kosofe LG intervene on this matter. Myself and my neighbour had been using our personal funds to desilt the drainage before now.

“My neighbour who did not erect a building but rather used his land as mechanic workshop coupled with me who had no tenants or shops use our personal money to desilt the waste of others.

“I don’t have so much wastes because my 3 bedroom bungalow had no shop. When rain falls, wastes coming from Miyaki road converge on my drainage pathways.

“Once it rained, people will start throwing wastes in the drainage pathways. I know how much I spend during raining season as an 80 year old man who depends on friends to feed”. He said

The Chairman of Kosofe LG has embarked on the action to keep Kosofe clean. Ajayi Aina street Ifako, Diya street Ifako, Oworo Sandfill Miyaki Oworo, Bush Street Anthony, Gafar Balogun Ogudu, Farombi Ajike Anthony, Adebayo Mokunolu Anthony, Ogudu roads Barracks were disilted today.
