Osun distributes generators to power 332 boreholes

The Osun State Government, on Monday, said it had commenced the distribution of generators across the 332 political wards of the state to power the boreholes sunk by Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration.

The government disclosed this in the bulletin published by the state Ministry of Information.

According to the bulletin, the 332 boreholes were sunk to mark Adeleke’s first 100 days in office.

Speaking during the distribution of the generator at the Government Secretariat, Abere, the Director of Water Sanitation and Environment, Ministry of Environment,  Olaoye Abayomi, described the gesture as unprecedented in the state history.

He further said, “By the World Organisation Standard, a borehole is to serve 3,500 people, which means Mr Governor has provided water for about two million people in the state.”

He commended  Adeleke for his passion towards provision of potable water across the state.
