The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has achieved a milestone, collecting a record N17.9 billion on June 14, 2024, the highest daily collection since its inception.
Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, Customs Area Controller, attributed this feat to the dedication of his officers and men, promising sustained efforts in revenue collection, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
The command also intercepted two containers of used clothing and Crusader soap, demonstrating its commitment to enforcing import and export regulations.
Comptroller Olomu urged port users to comply with guidelines, pay duties promptly, and engage regularly to promote national interest.
This achievement coincides with the one-year anniversary of Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi’s tenure, whose leadership has inspired the command’s success.
The Apapa Command is poised to maintain and surpass this tempo, setting a new standard for customs operations in Nigeria
