Against the backdrop of the hardship, climate surrounding, the nation’s economy, the populace have been urged to cut their clothes down to their sizes in order to be able to cope with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economy reforms. In this piece, editor in chief, Jane osamor speaks to Lagos socialists, businessman and a philanthropist, Mr Tory Ojo about how ti survive in Nigeria reform as it unfolds, excerpts .

Good afternoon sir we are here from the hibiscus female publishers and we will like to meet with you and get to know you status?
Thanks you very much, my name is Tony Ojo and I hall from Edo state of Nigeria. I run the unique gentlemen club, we have being here for well over 17 years or there about by the grace of God and now we are still there.

How have you being able to cope or live with this hardship in Nigeria economy?
We are all aware that when the president came into office, he let us to know that whatever he met on ground we should all be prepared to make sacrifices as it was going to be tough, God willing we will come over it soonest . He asked to be willing to bear with him and whatever it is that the government has to go through what or all that we needed to do is to try to adjust to the present day realities of our lifestyle. So in that sense we will manage him and we seek knowledge in business no matter what and we will not say that we should give up just now. All we need to do is just to adjust.

Are you in support of what the president said, I mean he asked that we should bear with me but most people disagree with this
People say that they ended an 8 years regime and here we are in another one and we are already suffocating shed more light to this sir?
Yes you know that as Nigeria’s we are always in a hurry but we should also look at so many directions. He is coming in and he was the one that knows what he saw and basically he is not coming into what we have and continue with it but to alert us to help him by bearing with him. We need to suffer with him a little but if you will allow me to use that word but at the end of the day we will definitely scale through as a nation. He is doing a very wonderful job, he might not be speaking to people or probably Nigerians might think he does not know what he is doing but I tell you that he is he is doing a all lot to make sure that the oil subsidy that the country has been paying for, he has managed to put all of that to an end so that we can rely on local production instead of exporting oil into the country and this has made our foreign exchange market, to escalated.so he’s doing a very wonderful job. He was a business man before coming to power so he knows what to do at this time, he was ready for the office from day one so I will advice that we should all bear with him. He needs time to fix things, at least a year or two so that we can now start to reap the dividends of democracy.

Business today Can you comparisons it with the past and what is the way forward?
Like i said we just have to adjust if I was spending 100,00 before now, based on what is on ground I should be able to cute down on my expenses and spend less till when maybe things improves.that is my own belief.

Are you saying that your clients base has not changed so far?
I will not say that, moreso they are buying into my ideas of containers costing, spending less and curbing or cutting down on expensive drinks. People who are crowd puller will now have to know the number of people that they move with, so that is it the fact is it is not as too are managing.
Sur, are you saying that it’s eating into the purse of the company because if you do not have cash to spend how do we make money as it is affecting both customers and the company.
