Tragedy occurred in the FESTAC area of Lagos State as lightning struck and killed two women
The Lagos State Police Spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the sad incident in a post he shared on his Twitter handle – @benHundeyin, on Saturday, 25 May, 2024.
According to him, the incident happened during the rain on Friday, 24 May, 2025.
“Somewhere on First Avenue, FESTAC, two women remained indoors during the downpour yesterday. Lightning struck, electrocuting them instantly and causing a fire outbreak,” he said.The PPRO, who added that the victims lived in a shanty built under high-voltage wires, sympathised with the deceased and prayed that their souls rest in peace
