Ogunlewe Reel-out Scorecards Before Journalists in Kosofe

The Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Barrister Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe has reeled out his account of stewardship in the last three years before gentlemen of the press. 

Newsconnect reports that Ogunlewe who was entrusted with the leadership of Kosofe Local Government presented a scorecard, which he christened a testament to the collective effort and achievements of his team in the last three years. 

The Council Chairman attributed his administration achievements to the effort of his hardworking staffs in Kosofe LG, his dedicated Council members, Community leaders, and residents of Kosofe who gave their unflinching support since inception. 

In his words he said;

“When we assumed office in July 2021, we made a solemn promise to work tirelessly for the development and prosperity of Kosofe. We pledged to focus on key areas that would significantly improve the lives of our people – infrastructure, health, education, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment. 

“Today, I am pleased to report that we have made substantial progress in each of these areas.

“Let me start with our infrastructure development initiatives, which we aptly named “KOSOFE WORKS.” Infrastructure is the backbone of any thriving community, and we recognized its critical importance from day one. 

“I am proud to announce that over the past three years, we have constructed a total of 30 roads across all seven wards of our local government”. He said. 

Ogunlewe acknowledged the efforts of his able Vice Chairman, Honourable Shosanya Oluwole, and to the Kosofe Legislative Arm ably led by  its vibrant Leader of the House,Hon.Oluloro Idowu.

Ogunlewe said;

“In this Administration we recognize the importance of our workforce and understand that the only way we can enhance high level of productivity is to do what we have done so far.

“On Education, we have laid so much interest in enhancing the standard of Education by providing conducive learning environment and educational advancement tools to ensure we raise the bar for our students and encourage adult literacy. This administration has, therefore, provided the following programmes and projects through the Educational support Initiative:

-Yearly Distribution of 200  GCE Forms since 2021 till date.

-Yearly Distribution of 200 JAMB Forms since 2021 since 2021 till date.

– 4 Weeks Free Tutorial Classes for GCE Form Beneficiaries 

-4 Weeks Free Tutorial Classes JAMB Form Beneficiaries 

-Adult Literacy Advocacy Programme

– Annual Spelling Bee Competition 

-Construction of 1 story Block of Classrooms at Mosafejo  Primary School.

“So far, Education has being one of our major priorities and we shall continue to project more stabilized and emulative Educational programmes in the future.

“On Healthcare, Kosofe Local Government under my Administration has provided good and accessible healthcare delivery. Residents have attested to getting affordable Services in all of our Primary Health Centre. I, hereby present our modest achievements in Healthcare:

-Construction of Oworo Primary Health Centre (PHC).

-Purchase of Ambulances

– Provision of Free Consultations and Free Drugs for Staff

– Mini Health Mission/Free Eye Glasses for  Residents 

– Monthly Fueling of PHCs 

-Quarterly Deworming Exercise 

– Quarterly Polio Vaccination 

“Kosofe Local Government is committed to providing free, accessible and affordable Health Services to the great people of Kosofe and its environs, God help us.

“The saying Cleanliness is next to Godliness has being our guide towards the provision of healthy environment through constant cleaning and desiltation of drainages around the Council  Area with emphasis on proper waste disposal. Below are  proper steps taken in ensuring a cleaner environment.

-Desilting of major Canals and Drains

-Provision of Waste Bins to various communities

-Participation in the year 2024 Tree Planting Exercise 

“It is our belief that before the end of this Administration’s tenure, Kosofe will be amongst one of the cleanest local government in the State.

PROVISION OF GADGETS FOR ICT UNIT .

This is necessary to key into technological advancement the world is changing into and to ensure effectiveness and safety of Local Government’s information.

KOSOFE FOOD BANK

In view of the economic situation of the country and increase in food prices, my led Administration initiated a Food Bank where staple food items was distributed to the vulnerable and residents of the Council Area. This programme was done in phases as stated below:

– 1st Phase Food Palliatives 

-Oworonsoki Food Palliative.

-1st Phase NOELLA in Collaboration with Kosofe LG. Food Palliative.

-2nd Phase NOELLA in Collaboration with Kosofe LG. Palliative.

-Palliatives for Widows and Aged

-Kosofe Cares Palliative.

-Ramadan Palliative

-Triple T Palliative 

-Staff Sallah Relief Programme.

The above is the little we can do to ameliorate the food crisis situations our people are facing. It is our prayer,however,that the Agricultural policies of the  Federal Government would yield good fruits to curb the hike in food prices.
