Jumoke George, a well-known actress in Yoruba movies, has shared some difficult experiences she’s had in the film industry. She talked about how many men in the business wanted to date her before they would give her roles in movies.
In a video interview with Damilola Banire on Oyinmomo TV’s YouTube channel, Jumoke spoke openly about these challenges. She said that more than 30 actors have tried to pressure her into relationships in exchange for movie roles.
Jumoke explained, “I never thought of quitting filmmaking because it is not easy to abandon the job I love so much, and not even when a lot of people already know me.” This shows how much she cares about her work, even when things get tough.
She went on to say, “I started having issues with some actors when they started telling me to be in relationships with them. I have more than 30 actors who want to sleep with me before giving me movie roles.” This is a big problem that many actresses face in the film industry.
Jumoke was smart about how she handled this situation. She said, “I realized that I must not be in a relationship with any of the actors because they will discuss my matter between themselves and they will damage my reputation.” She knew that if she dated these actors, they might talk about her to others and hurt her good name.
