Commandant of Corps Adedotun Sunday Keshinro re-assures Lagosians of maximum protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, through robust engagement with critical stakeholders, intelligence gathering and synergy with all relevant institutions in the state.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Lagos State Command has today, Tuesday, 9th January, 2024, received, a new State Commandant, appointed, to take over the mantle of leadership of the command.
The new NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant is Commandant of Corps Adedotun Sunday Keshinro, who took over from Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, MFR, fdc, today.
The former NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Usman Alfadarai, in his remarks during the handover ceremony, which witnessed the presentation of flag and documents was full of thanksgiving to the Almighty God and seized, the opportunity to appreciate the officers and men of the Command, for the immense support they extended, to him while he held sway as their leader.
However, he charged, the personnel of the Command, to extend the same love and support to their new State Commandant as he believed, strongly that it will be the only way to achieve meaningful success for the Command.
The former NSCDC, Lagos State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Usman Alfadarai has being posted, to Abia State Command as the new State Commandant.
Commandant of Corps Adedotun Sunday Keshinro, while giving his remarks extolled, the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for approving his posting to the state of excellence, in a bid to ensure the fulfilment of the Corps’ vision and mission and its mandates as enacted, by law.
The astute and proactive State Commandant, further took the opportunity, once again to re-assure, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo – Olu and the good people of the state, of his unflinching commitment to ensure maximum protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, safety of our schools, improved disaster and crisis management, amidst others through robust engagement with critical stakeholders, intelligence gathering and synergy with all relevant institutions in the state.
The new State Commandant, Commandant of Corps Adedotun Keshinro hails from Ijebu Mushin, in Ogun State.
He attended All Saints Primary school, Osogbo and Saint Mark’s Anglican Secondary school Osogbo for his secondary school education.
The intelligence and operational guru proceeded, to the Prestigious University of Ilorin, Kwara State where he bagged, his Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Chemistry between the year 1991-1996. He served his fatherland through the National Youth Service Corps, in Rivers State. He also further obtained, his Masters Degree in Legal, Criminology and Security Phycology ( 2012 ).
The senior officer holds professional membership certificates with a number of renowned and chartered institutes such as: The Institute of Information Technology (2009), Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators ( 2014 ).
He was enlisted into the Service as a volunteer Personnel ( 1994 ). He became a commissioned officer of the corps in the year 2003, with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Corps II ( ASCII ), after which he rose through the ranks to become a Commandant of Corps ( 2021 ).
He has also served in various capacities in our dear and highly esteemed service, which include; Divisional Officer in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory ( FCT ) Command, Secretary of NSCDC, Osun State Command recruitment committee, 2ic Disaster Management Ondo State Command ( 2004 – 2005 ), Public relations Officer Osun State Command ( 2011 – 2012 ), 2ic Administration Department ( 2012 – 2013 ), Head of Department Peace and Conflict Resolution Osun State Command, Head of Department Intelligence and Investigation Oyo State Command ( 2015 – 2017 ).
His encounters with other very crucial internal Security and Joint Task Force Operations, with the Military Forces of Nigeria amongst others include; Operation Lafiya Dole, Operation Sharan Daji and Operation Whirl Stroke, where he served as the NSCDC Component and Field Commander.
Amongst his previous accomplishments in the Corps included, being the NSCDC Liason Officer with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), a renowned foundation, from Germany, which seeks to organize trainings for governmental institutions and ensure development cooperation amidst others and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
He has also attended, international capacity building programs, to further boost his career development and they include; :Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center, Accra, Ghana, Cyber Security Conferences in Israel amongst others. He is married and blessed with wonderful children. His hobbies include traveling, reading, listening to music and mentoring.
