The Oyo State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB) on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, hailed two fathers who decided to back their babies while their wives were busy undergoing interviews for recruitment into the state teaching service.
The SUBEB announced the development through the X handle of its Executive Chairman after seeing the two fathers outside the hall where the interviews took place at the Egbeda Local Government Area of the state.
Egbeda is one of the local government areas within the Ibadan metropolis and the interview was conducted on Wednesday for over 1,000 candidates for recruitment into the teaching profession in the state.

The interview session began on Monday and over 10,000 candidates had so far gone through the process at the 33 local government areas of the state while others are to take their turns on Thursday and Friday.
However, SUBEB officials on Wednesday sighted the husbands of two female candidates at the premises of the venue of backing the babies while their wives were busy undergoing the rigorous interview process.
The SUBEB officials therefore praised them for the wonderful things they did in giving their wives helping hands.
The SUBEB Chairman wrote: “Thumbs up to fathers who played the ‘motherly’ roles, while their wives were busy with the interview panels today. Thanks for lending helping hands sirs.”
