Customs Comptroller Olomu Seeks Lagos Monarch’s Support for Trade Facilitation, Anti-Smuggling Efforts

The Customs Area Controller of Apapa Port Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, has secured the support of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, for the service’s drive for revenue collection, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling efforts.

During a courtesy visit to the palace, Olomu emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in promoting fiscal compliance and sought the monarch’s blessing and support for full compliance from stakeholders.

He highlighted the Apapa area command’s significant contribution to the nation’s economy and the need for collaboration to minimize the smuggling of adulterated drugs.

Oba Akiolu expressed satisfaction with the Customs Service’s efforts and called for stricter measures to combat drug smuggling, praising the collaboration between the NCS and NDLEA.

He assured Olomu of his unwavering support and advised officers to prioritize their health and education.
